Moved to mp3 player user reviews, nice review.

I could live without the little speaker as I never use mine and in it’s place an expansion slot as you stated would have made this a much better music player as I could care less about the video too.

Nice review....looks like a very nice player, except I agree that the external speaker should be replaced with a expansion slot, since a speaker that small probably wouldn't sound so good and be that loud....

I am looking forward to the next gen of the "i" series, hopefully they do as most have suggested in dropping the speaker(lol) and add expansion. As far as cost and space expansion takes very little of both, and adds so much to a player.

It looks like a really good player. The i9 seems the natural evolution of the i7 (except for battery life).

The i7 has a 60 hours battery life, which really is the only thing the i7 does better. The i9 is definitely superior though in every other aspect.

Add to that a more powerful amp (26mW + 26mW, 16ohm, rated at 52mW) and a non proprietary usb connection. Can't put my finger on it but I still prefer mine even though the nine has gapless and jeteffects 3.0.

ndh: very nice review man. I very much appreciate the focus on usability. I always thought the i9 was a sexy piece of gear but have shied away from touch controls [just because I am old school and set in my ways lol ].

But an i9 in the same form factor, at 16GB main mem with uSDHC slot for a reasonable price? If Cowon ever made such a beast, I prolly would grab it, touch controls and all...
