Not really a phone, but an Android device nonetheless. I had some time to go into town and try out a few devices. One of them was the new, and very fancy, Nook Color. I didn't get around to doing much, due to certain circumstances, but I did like it.
When I first got a hold of it, I didn't know what to expect. I noticed the design was a bit different, but it isn't a big change from the original Nook. The unlock screen was your standard, "Slide to unlock" kind of deal. There is also the addition of a hardware home button. That really is an improvement over the capacitive button, which didn't really inform you if it worked or not until you went home. The home screen is pretty interesting. You're presented with books that were recently added and then you can pin books to the home-screen. The books pinned to the homescreen can made bigger or smaller with pinch-to-zoom. One thing I noticed was a constant bar at the bottom of the screen. It had a couple of options in there. I didn't notice much. I didn't get a chance to test out the browser or the games, so I can't give much on that. I can say that you get the apps you had on the original Nook and I think they've added Pandora music streaming. I'll probably be heading out into to town again to get a bit more of a hands-on. Overall it's a very great device. What are your opinions on the Nook Color? Is what you expected it to be? Complaints? Anything? that's pretty impressive from the reading side of things, I have so many epubs and the Kindle doesn't support them, converting takes ages.
