Default Question about Lock feature....

Hello....new to these forums. Just bought a zen x-fi2 for my son to use to watch videos. Bought is specifically for the lock button feature, but I'm seeing that what you lock the screen during video playback it doesn't keep the screen on??

Is there a way to make this work so my son can watch video and I can lock the screen and home button?

Thanks.

I do not know of any way.

Also to unlock it you just drag a circle out of the screen, locking doesnt really stop someone from going to the menu

I think he wants it more so that his son won't accidentally exit it, or something.
From what I can see it is unfortunately impossible to lock the screen and keep it lit. It assumes you want to put it in your pocket or something, and that's why you locked it.

Is it really necessary to lock the screen?

The easy answer is yes it needs to be locked. My son's only 2 and when we go out it's nice to have this player. Esp. at a restaurant where he's finished eating and has to sit there while we eat. It keeps him occupied and quiet.

At 2 he's still fiddling with the screen. He used to use our iphone but the screen is so sensitive that he constantly stopped the movie. The Zen is better with this as it's pressure induced. We can manage with the lock feature not working during video playback but it was one of the major features I was looking at in a player.

If anyone knows of a player that does this that'd be great. When buying this one I was also looking at the cowan models, zune hd, and the iriver p7

Ah I see, I suspected it might be something similar. And yes the fact the ZEN needs a bit of pressure helps, but not enough I guess.

I asked my friend about the Cowon S9 and he tells me he can lock the screen and still watch video on it. You might want to look deeper into that.
