Great news. I have just updated to the newest version.

It appears after database initialization at next boot.

I get the same issue

I'll report it to Lorenzo and Kugel.

For the moment it's better to keep your previous build.

Yes! The same crap for me with latest build. Didn't have much time to write here, but if I'm not the only one...
Well, it seems that with about 200-300 MB free on both internal flash (4 GB) and microSD (8 GB) everything works fine, but when I try to write a bit more I got this annoying kernel panic. Database then is divided by zero, and R0 boots OK next time, but... just until I try to build (initialize) the DB. So no database, no sorting, no autoplaylist, just good ol' file browser :|

PS. At first I thought my R0's memory is dead, but then I got that goddamn panic after writing to SD.
PPS. Erm... About previous build. Does anyone here know where to download it? I'm really not gonna miss *PANIC* audio_reset_buffFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU--

Probably the same issue as:
http://www.rockbox.org/tracker/task/12684

Delete all .tcd files from the .rockbox directory, enable dircache (settings / general settings / disk IIRC) and try again to build the database.
If you're not using voice, it will probably help to disable that to avoid the problem.

But if disabling voice will help, that's good enough for me

ouch! a big bug, seems EOM (End Of Memory???)
I'll test that personally too now

Anyways don't be scared since it is a panic of Rockbox (not a kernel panic of the player )

EDIT: indeed there is the problem...okay then. it worked before having the old database files (then after reinitializing I had this problem too) and in general this could happen (I remind you that these are developers builds, they MAY contain bugs, they must be stable )

EDIT2: if you're out home or you cannot have access to memory, just boot the OF and delete the database files in rockbox folder!

Okay guys!

I found the solution. You need to boot rockbox (then if you have the panic, delete database files in .rockbox folder, i.e. files with .tcd extension named database_X.tcd).
Go to Settings > General Settings > Voice > Voice Menu > and select off. Check also the other items and be sure they are all turned off.
Now build the database as always, reboot, et voilą The trick is done!

Indeed. Maybe someone should try if it is common to other devices too! But I guess so...

Does anyone have any idea why my library doesn't update automatically after I've changed files? I always have to do it manually.

Never tried that (I don't use the DB). Then please write here the steps to reproduce the bug (and please lebellium, investigate if it does work for you).
It is possible that this feature doesn't work due to the non-rockbox storage drivers (just assumptions...)

Of course this summer I will cleanup the code, fixing some glitches, removing RFS, enable RDS, enable SD automount etc

I'll check that tonight.
Appick, it would probably be good to know if you add the files on the internal storage or on a microSD card.

I add to both. I'll try tonight different permutations. This is something I've had since the begining (didn't think to mention it before!!!)

It is just a matter of setting the keys correctly. At the moment I have no time but in general the task doesn't require special C knowledge, at least knowing how to compile rockbox . If someone has some skills, it would be great if he could do the job meanwhile

Ok as promised I checked your claim. I set the auto-update in the settings and add a file onto the internal storage by connecting the R0 to the computer with the OF. After booting Rockbox and waiting for a few time, the new file still doesn't show up in the database contrary to my other rockboxed players. But after rebooting the player the file appears in the database. No need to update the database manually, just to reboot the player.
Actually I had already noticed for a long time that the R0 needs to reboot to initialize the database while the Sansa players don't need that if I remember well. Thus I guess when you add a new file with the auto-update setting, it really automatically finds the new file and updates the library in background but cannot complete this update until you reboot rockbox.
But that's only my guess, it needs further investigation.
