Default Funny advertisement on ABI

I find it extremely hilarious that Office Depot would use this as their slogan on a web ad...

Who's the graphic designer that chuckled when they made this ?

I think the joke is a sexual one.

But we have Office Works here, and they have a catchy tune that ends with "taking care of business" but I never thought/think of it as being dirty.

The song they used for ads in the US was Takin' Care of Business by BTO.

Guess this one doesn't translate... As a Briton, I'd have never seen that as humourous.

There have been a few companies that have called their travel operation "Touch & Go Travel", which has quite a different meaning over here, something more like "A Bit Sketchy Travel"...

"taking care of business" is also an slang for using the bathroom or having sex. How funny it is that an office suppy business uses it depends on where you were brought up and how old you are. Just though I'd share. Not funny or ironic to me either.

Sorry JProne, I must concur - that one went into the atmosphere over my head as well

And I am very familiar with both the song and the double entendre meaning of the phrase....

I would be curious to hear your intention behind the OP though

My feelings exactly. Sorry, I didn't take into account the variety of people that frequent this site.

I grew up in the Mid-South of the United States (Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri, Arkansas). A lot of people from that region said "taking care of business" as an indirect way of indicating he or she had taken part of the aforementioned actions in the quote.

I apologize for the lack of clarification .

I got it but as you probably know JProne advertising is infamous for not fully researching what messaging really means and to whom. That being said I've seen much much worse and I don't think the graphic/web designer that through this together even got it.

Trust me, if this had implied any type of sexual action it would have been pulled already. On a related note...realized last weekend that the Bed & Body Works acronym is BBW. They must be pretty happy about that
