Default Fault with Sansa Clip+ 8GB - anyone else experienced this?

Hi,

I've recently been given a clip+ which seems to be in the process of developing some annoying problems. I was wondering if anyone else had experienced something similar (are these foibles of the clip+?):

1) It intermittently shuts down in the middle of playing podcasts (it has only done this once while listening to music). Initially, this was a rare occurrence, but it now shuts down at least two or three times a day.

2) The pause button often becomes non-functional. Pressing it causes the track being listened to to skip but not actually stop.

I'm a little reluctant to send the whole thing back for things that are (at the moment) just a nuisance, but worry that it will worsen with time.

Has anyone else had similar problems?

No, but I haven't used the original firmware very much. Have you updated your Clip+ to the most recent firmware version?

If the problem remains, it could be caused by corrupt audiobook files. Did it occur with audiobooks from one specific source or from several sources?

Thanks for your response.

I've not updated the firmware yet, so that is a good idea - thanks for that.

And, yeah, the shut-down glitch occurred when playing podcasts and music from multiple sources.

I think Timar is correct, you need a firmware update. I don't remember off the top of my head which version it was, but I briefly experienced the same thing you are.....and the next firmware update solved the problem.
