Default S9 doesn't like Japan's humid weather?

Greetings, I bought my S9 back when I lived in Montreal. After moving to Japan last summer, my player has been behaving strangely during particularly hot, humid, or rainy days.

It might stop, turn off and refuse to turn on again or connect itself to a PC until it has spent a certain amount of time inside.

After almost a year, it seems like it's getting worse.

The climate here is quite humid in the summer time, and I'm beginning to wonder how long the player will last at this rate.

I'm looking at perhaps buying something to protect it, but what manner of case can protect from humidity?

Generally, IME, electronics don't really like humidity, a problem I am now likely gonna have to deal with in Hong Kong. Now, all my gear sits on 1 long glass table and I have several boxes of dehumidifying pellets nearby in addition to a physical AC dehumidifier unit. Not sure if it will help, but IMO, sure cannot hurt.

At least, that was the traditional wisdom - not sure how much better modern consumer electronics are, though the fact that so much gear today still ships with dessicant packs leads me to believe humidity remains a concern.

Did you do anything at all different with your S9?

Oh and welcome to ABi!

Shouldn't be a problem. I've been living in super-humid Singapore and my S9 has been working perfectly for 2.3 years and counting

^ Hey man, that's good to know.

Still gonna buy those dehumidifier pellet container things while here in HK though. Might not make a diff for electronics, but I like to think they will help with keeping me dry and comfy
