If the jack under the TMA-1s is too big it just gets snagged on my hipster scarf too easily when I turn my head around.

AIAIAI has really put some thought into the end users with these phones. I think these phones would be great for a lot of DIY power users. But it would be weird to see a lot of people with these plain, blank phones in today's world of bling and branding. Maybe these are the antithesis of those edition 10s.

I think I know what I'm getting for christmas.
I hope the reviews on the sound quality continue to be more on the positive side, the style and size of these seem perfect for my tastes.

lol...I don't mean to speak for dfkt, but I happen to know he does listen to that stuff. Judging from his comments and reactions on these tres cool and apparently awesome Batman cans, I would hazard to guess they sound pretty great for those genres...

I am falling in love with these headphones more every day I listen to them.
Seriously, all my sound-liking habbits kind of evolved and fit exactly in the TMA-1 model. I am not sure about it, but I guess these phones do need some burn in, or at least a lot of getting used to them. They are getting better and better every day. I sort of started disliking the HFI-780 sound now, the sound that made me extatic for the last year or two. I started hating those exaggarated heights of the Ultrasone and this "show-off" bass they produce! :P I even got used to the TMA-1 loose fit. There has been a compromise made, between comfort and secure fit. Well, in this model comfort seems to be the main goal, and it has been reached. I was scared of the circum-aural (or however it is called) earcup design, I was worried my ears will hurt (due to me wearing glasses), but it all appeared to be some unreasonable worries. I can wear those cans for hours, and I will continue on doing so. peace, Greg

Seeing that picture it seems a right angled to right angled 3.5mm would work fine too.

Damn, in the market for new IEM's and now I need to have these! They look great and probably sound better than my HD555. Also love the 2001 reference...

Hey... just wondering if anyone can help me out as a total headphone newbie.
I'm basically looking for my first pair of good headphones... have read tons of reviews, and am now trying to decide between the AIAIAI's, Denon 1001's, and the Sennheiser HD 25-1's. I'm leaning far towards the AIAIAI's or the Denon 1001's mostly due to look and availability where I am. Does anyone have any recommendation between these headphones? To help, I listen to mostly classic rock (Cream, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, Derek and the Dominos, etc). Might the AIAIAI's be lacking enough treble for optimal sound on guitar solos? I don't really know what I'm talking about, lol... just thought this may be a possibility. |
