Yeah, I just borrowed the monitor audio cable from my work desktop and used it on my headphones today ;p The green computer plugs are a bit of an attention grabber but works just well as the stock cable as far as I can tell.

Hi guys.

I have finally received my TMA-1's. They certainly are a pair of great phones. I have been listning to the for like 2 days now.
At first, when I have first plugged them to my AudioFire I was completely dissapointed. The saound seemed muddy and not textured enough. I gave them a few hours though, and after a while I understood the weird impression I got at the first moment.
The thing is that I have been using the Ultrasone HFI-780's for a year or two. Using them on a daily basis made me used to a very specific sound signature those phones had.
So, TMA-1's appeared not to be muddy, but the 780's are overwhelmly too sparkly. Their heights are way too exagerrated, and the heights of TMS-1's are just where they should be.
I dont want to pretend that I know the appropriate words to describe their sound signature with more details, I iwll wait for dkft to express himself.

Anyway - the TMA-1's are great. I love the minimalistic way they look, I love the replaceble cable and their nice low weight.
One thing I dont liek about them are those foamy earpads, they sort of convert the phones from closed-back to open headphones. They loose quite a lot of sound this way and, for me, they sound unacceptable. But the pleather (or whatever it is) pads are great. They are comfortable, they dont make your ears burn (that is also due to moderate clamping force of these phones, what by the way, is another small issue) and you can wear them for long hours without sweating.

I think these are a great pair of phones in their price range too. I got them directly from the reseller for 1400DK. A fair price for such a nice product that will last for years (I hope!).

bye bye,
Greg

Sweet stuff Greg, goes quite nicely w/your red Zune. I gotta get a set of these, but I'm gonna go broke after that Panasonic IEM purchase I recently made. Still, these are well worth it, ENJOY!!!

Anybody wanna but a slightly used set of Panasonic IEM's?

WOW the monoprice premium cable is FAT. It is nice quality but heavy to use with the TMA-1.

@The Larch: How does the TMA-1 sound w/your Z:HD??? Is there adequate volume, especially since dfkt said they can go quite loud???

That is huge o_O I just made a short cable from I think this is the longer FiiO E3 interconnect cable and some random Sony earbud extension cord that has a fairly flat L jack. Lightest cable ever, and it works just fine with the TMA-1.

I am going to make a better cable at some point.
I have been using the foam pads at work so I can hear what is going on around. I do like the pleather pads better but like to have this option when I need to hear my surroundings.
Here is a pic of that monoprice cable.

Damn, that "premium" one sure is beefy. Seems the regular one would be more portable: http://www.monoprice.com/products/pr...seq=1&format=2

It is a very nice cable. Impressive for the price. I bet one could make up some audio improvement nonsense and resell these at 100X the price.

Yeah, you could simply put it in a garden hose...

Made another cable for on the go, shorter and lighter than the one I made for at home. Absolutely no imbalanced feeling or tugging. It's from a Cowon stock earbud - used the cable's molded Y-splitter as strain relief for the Neutrik plug, easy as pie:
