Sony introduces new Walkman series MW-E50 and NW-A850

Here are the 2011 models.

Economic: NW-E50 and NW-E50K

Top of the line: NW-A850 and NW-S750

Here are the 2011 E, S and A for Japan. The S750 was already seen at IFA. We may suppose those domestic models will not be exported. We already know a different E (E450) outside Japan for the entry level. Maybe we can expect some NWZ versions of the new S and A. The maximum capacity is still 64GB.

So the "budget" E now only goes up to 4GB in Japan? With the exception of the 32GB S series, these can all stay in Tokyo as far as I am concerned...

I now officially hate Sony, as it currently seems that they have no plans to release these new dap's in the USA or Canada in the 32gb or 64gb varieties. Sony, it's official "The DarkSide says YOU SUCK!!! "

This announcement is largely irrelevant to any consumer outside Japan. Sony has tons of releases like this for their domestic market every year and it does not reflect their global plans. Just because we don't see a relevant or anticipated new model for us here doesn't mean it's not coming.

I can understand why many here are disappointed with this announcement because it simply highlights the lack of what we're anticipating, but that's purely psychological. There would have been no Android model or American A847 or whatever right now regardless of whether or not Japan gets these extra new derivatives, so the rational thing to do would be to let them have their fun and carry on waiting our turn as if this announcement never happened.

hmm I am still waiting for the A847 but not sure, maybe I will hold out for a new walkman in the spring, who knows what sony will have to offer.

I'd personally love an S Series size Walkman (as in the S639 size) in 64gb. To have it in such a small package would be perfect IMO, and I'd buy 2 of them.

But on a Sony, it would have gaps between tracks.....and several of their albums are not meant to have gaps.
