This is the first time I heard that the Clip+ stock firmware supports AAC.

Since I believed you, I demuxed the AAC from the video you posted above, and tried it as elementary ADTS, then muxed into an MP4 container, with both MP4 and M4A suffixes - none of them are even displayed on the Clip+.

Tell me, in what way is AAC working on the stock Clip+ firmware?

Confirmed...M4A doesn't show up on mine in the OF either....only in rockbox.

The Clips with OF do not support aac, as far as I am aware. If they work for you, please explain.

A lot of FLV files have MP3 audio, maybe he demuxed the audio and mistakenly named it .AAC even though its really an MP3? I'm surprised the clip would even try to play it, but I guess its possible.

No, renamed MP3s with .aac, .m4a, .mp4 suffixes don't show up in the folder and tag browser as well.
