My Zune HD's headphone jack is loose, so when the cord gets tugged at or the plug of the headphone gets wiggled around, the sound gets muffled. I bought my Zune in sometime around May, so I'm sure that I have warranty. Will Microsoft repair this if I call them and then send it to them?
I suspect this is because of the bulky HD555 headphone jack, which I will be getting a different adapter for. |

It sounds like it's more you're mini jack on your headphones, this may explain a little.

I called customer support, and I'm going to send them my Zune. Not looking forward to waiting a month, but Reach should help me through the month. I'm ordering a Grado adapter so this doesn't happen again.
EDIT: It is my jack. I used a few pairs of headphones and got the same results. And I'd rather not risk ruining my headphones by soldering, as I've never done it before. Plus a soldering iron would cost just as much as the Grado adapter. Last edited by quix117; 09-02-2010 at 02:15 PM. |
