Default Samsung YP-Q3
The successor of the YP-Q2 is coming soon.
It will probably be announced at the IFA 2010.
For now there is only a picture and a video:




What we already know:
-microUSB connexion
-tactile keys (yes! )
-zero video conversion
-(RDS?) tuner FM
-Voice recording
-Text reader
-New SoundAlive effects with 5.1 surround effect (RIP DNSe 3.0)
-Task manager
-Interface customization (UCI)

It makes me remind the Z5 and that's a good thing

I just watched the video... "5.1 surround" - what a load of bull. I hope their "SoundAlive" thing is a bit better than DNSe.

@dfkt: According to my Korean friends who own a YP-RB, the 5.1 effect is not really efficient. But that's not a surprise. I don't believe it is possible to recreate a great 5.1 effect with earphones.
Regarding the DNSe, I don't think they are bad. Not as good as BBE but far better than X-Fi for instance.

I thought the key to the DNSe 3.0 with my Q2 was to ignore the presets.....by carefully experimenting with the Bass, Clarity, and the internal 7-band EQ (not the "Master EQ") I got a really outstanding sound, that I was never able to equal until I finally tried Rockbox on my Sansas.

Looks fantastic, although I'm skeptical about SoundAlive. DNSe is good though, so perhaps this will be better.

Hmmm, that thing looks very sexy in black and silver IMO - and all that shiny metal! My interest is definitely piqued, especially as I have not owned/played around too much with any Samsung players...

Though it seems capacity/card slot questions still remain for the moment?

@lebellium: Any chance you can grab a demo and give us first hand inside scoop? ;-)

Most of the time I can test the new products a long time (from several days to several months) before their release but Samsung asks me to say nothing about them until they get almost released, I'm sorry, that's often frustrating for me too^^

I have just seen the new fall 2010 iPod line from Apple. This time I believe that competitors have a Window of opportunity against the Nano.
That Q3 is conservative for the controls and muscular for the shape, with so many formats supported, I hope it will be a success.

There is no microSD slot because there is already one on the R0.

No card slot! yikes! Damn that Blows!!

Why would it be a R0!? As far as I can see R0 is now nothing but a useless s**tchunk lol

I'm kinda disappointed now...no card slot really sucks!

They better release a 32GB version of this under $200US now!
