Another brick IMO only difference is this one looks better and has a better DAC and possibly internals as well. Although that volume slider has to go

more info on this would be much appreciated, something that big just got to sound good, however I'm afraid sounding good is all it will do. i mean, browsing through songs? podcasts?

Not to mention none of the so-called "high end" players are gapless, which disqualifies them by default - since they're not able to reproduce music as it's supposed to be.

Oooh, man that wooden back just looks- awful... At first I thought it was a copper back or something like that, from the renders, or whatever is on the first page.

Now this is coming from a clocksmith that spent maybe a year restoring large wooden box clocks so maybe I'm a bit more sensitive to these kinda things but really. Horrible, horrible work. It looks hand made, and I don't mean that in a good way. I bet CaptnO would do a better job, especially if he was charging 250€ for it.

Many of them cost less than so-called "hifi" players from shady outlets, and all of them have state-of-the-art technology inside, of course.

The Sony PCMD1 is a real looker as well, as far as steampunk/cyberpunk goes:

This one's $1999.95, though.
so when you getting us an RMAA of that ?

I Love this. Very Fallout-esque.

Also, am I only person who would love a tactical slider for volume control?

design-wise i really do like this colorfly. but the second i would put it in my front pocket my ears might explode. they should have added a lock button.

You seem to like giving shit to the chinese mp3 players and I always wonder if you have listened to any of them. I have a Cowon D2 which I used extensively for 2 years and loved. I bought an S:flo in March and since then my Cowon has been gathering dust. I couldn't give a toss if it doesn't do gapless, I care more about how it sounds and its ability to drive more demanding headphones without external amplification. My Shure SRH844 sound flat and lifeless with my D2, with the S:flo they come alive.

I don't care about brand loyalty and I am happy to take a punt on something different. My S:flo is crude in a lot of ways, but I would have it over any other product on the market at the moment.

Well mate neither of those links were for an S:Flo2 and I don't jerk off over graphs. As a genuine guy who has had a Creative Zen NX, Vision M, iRiver H340, Zune 30 and a D2 since 2003 I think I am fairly qualified to speak on what I like. Review an S:Flo2 or STFU I say. I have no problems with other players and still have my Zune 30 and D2, I use them if the S:Flo battery is dead. I stand by both being inferior in sound quality. If the S:Flo2 is junk, do a review, let the world know. I don;t care about being wrong, all I know is I can't go back after hearing an S:Flo coupled with my Triple.Fi10 or Shure SRH844.

well, i say provide some objective observations/reviews/... or STFU.

i say again( already told this to a guy who had a similar post count like yourself) everyone is entitled to their very own opinion. you can express it in what way it pleases you. but you may have to live with the consequences: being laughed off as a wannabe expert who doesn't care for neutral rmaa tests that show "nothing" but the quality of the output(s) of a certain audio device. it doesn't say how the device itself sounds, it just states what it is capable off. most of the chinese junk players are overpriced and can't even compete with budget players like the clip+.

saying you don't jerk off to this translates to me:" i have no clue about those strings and figures so what do i care for. my (deceiving) ears tell me the "truth". "

the s:flo isn't mainly panned for audio playback but for its pathetic playback time, btw.

also a player being endorsed by two websites/"audiophillitic elitists" tells me there is something wrong with that thing.
