I was looking on this forum for some information on the Klipsch S4 headphones, but was unable to find any. Does anyone has any experience with them? CNET gave them a glowing review, but I don't put much stock into their articles. I know the Hippo VB is very well-regarded here and was wondering if it would be considered superior to the S4s. Thanks for the help!

The S4 are great. I have never used the Hippo VB, so I can't recommend the S4 over them. But I've used the S4 and they are probably the most comfortable IEM's I've ever used. You almost forget they are in your ear. Sound quality is a bit on the warm side, so when I use them, I adjust the EQ (on my Fuze or Clip+) to cut out some of the warm low-end, and they sound great. In this price range, I prefer the Monster Jamz (or Turbines, which can be had for near $100 on Amazon from third party sellers), which have fantastic bass and are well balanced, much less warm sounding than the S4, but that's my preference, from having used both extensively over a few month period. But the S4 are unlikely to disappoint.

Yes, my understanding is that S4s are quite good - a mod here has em and he loves em. However, in talking to him, he suspects that the VBs might/will probably be a step up the IEM food chain - much better bass and better sound signature all around.
Agree with glove4 - S4 are not a bad choice. They are still actually on my own possible purchase list.

Having owned the S4 previously, and owning the VB now, I'll confirm that the VB are indeed a far better IEM. At $80, with stuff like the VB floating around, the S4 don't represent a good value any longer.

I have heard that some liken the Hippo Shrooms EB to a better, improved S4 with better bass, highs, etc.
