.MP3 Purchasing Question
I just started purchasing a few .mp3's from Amazon. The files all seem to be a good quality, when run through EncSpot or Mr. QuestionMan. 4 of the 5 songs I purchased were encoded with LAME. The other was FhG. Is there any way to tell what it's encoded with before purchasing, or is it just a big crap shoot? If anyone can recommend to me a better place to buy than Amazon, I'm all ears. Thanks.

I don't like buying CD's, because I hate paying for the whole damn thing to get one or two songs I like.

Yeah, pretty much a crapshoot from the few I have downloaded from Amazon. For me, all have been HQ LAME rips - I think the vast majority are LAME, but FhG is prevalent.
Have you tried emailing Amazon for answers? -lestatar

No, I never tried e-mailing them. I bought a Van Halen album, and 5 other separate songs last night. Only 1 was encoded in FhG. They are nice files though, all of them.
