Thanks for letting us know dfkt.

But you know what's really annoying about Cowon? When one updates the firmware for the J3, it clears one's bookmark and favorites list.

edit: Crap, I've encountered yet another problem. I went from 2.10 to 1.20 (which is an upgrade) and now from 1.20 to 2.21. Three main menu icons were introduced in the 1.20 firmware upgrade that were specifically meant for the Korean market. I had assume that an upgrade to 2.21 would remove the Korean specific icons of firmware 1.20. Well no, it does not. I just upgraded to 2.21 and the 3 icons are still there on main menu #1. (Dictionary, Vokhan Guide, Vokhan). Anyone have any ideas how to get rid of these icons?

Maybe some remnants in the System/Flash UI folder that need to be deleted? Or maybe deleting the param.cfg file could help as well. This will reset your player to its initial state.

Yes, I'm sure it's something that's left behind, just don't know exactly what file needs to be deleted or reset to original. I'm going to wait a little bit before I delete the param.cfg file--as I think it's going to reset everything, including my user defined EQ settings--and see if anyone else figures out if there is/are specific files I can delete to get rid of the 3 icons. But if all else fails, I will try deleting the param.cfg file. Thanks for the suggestions dfkt.

Is there some way of backing up your J3 icon settings so I don't have to move it back to the way it was before I update?

I successfully updated to v2.21 and it didn't delete bookmarks and playlists

Same with me. Upgrading to V2.21 did no damage at all. All my favourites are still there. Perhaps those having problems should format the J3 and reinstall 2.21.

Really? That is interesting to know. If that indeed is the case going forward, upgrading firmware won't be so painful.
