I went and collected them this morning. They are indeed the real deal. They were originally bought from a big UK retailer (price sticker on the back) and were unopened (I somehow think they might have been stolen).
Time to break them in. |

Got mine today from an order I placed with J&R when they were temporarily out of stock. Haven't had an extremely long extended session with them yet, but they certainly do sound sweet.
Thanks to dfkt and all the other posters in this thread for leading me towards them. I couldn't be happier with them, and I am sure their sound will only continue to improve. |

Same here. THEY came pretty quick and were only $89. I like 'em a lot so far. Nicely built.

Larch: I. Hate. You.
![]() They look friggin' great - if they sound half as good as I hope, when I am ready to pull the trigger, I will probably blow a gasket in ecstasy...

This is so odd, it seems you can find them for $90 all over the place now. Not long ago I was sad because I could only find them for $150. Were my searching skills crap or did the price really drop that fast? I guess their popularity really has increased recently and the online stores want take advantage of this to sell/get rid of them.
http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum...ad.php?t=56979 (I ordered some yesterday for $90 btw) For anyone who wants to buy them: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_no...hje900&x=0&y=0 http://www.jr.com/panasonic/pe/PAN_RPHJE900/ |

I don't think you can find any other in-ear phones with this kind of build quality for even $200.

Watch it go down to like $50. . . If these are really that good and the price keeps going down we'll have to recommend it to anyone who ever asks what IEM to buy. . . I'm looking forward to hearing them. . . |

What the hell, why is the price falling like that? :S
Is it a sign that the HJE1000 is coming out?

I don't know if I should be happy or sad about the fall in price... being that I already have one. :S

Just ordered two pair of these from J&R after researching earbuds for over a week (mostly on this site). Yesterday I was just about to pull the trigger on the S4s when I decided to wait yet again. Glad I did if these reviews are accurate, which I'm sure they are.
My question for anyone who already has these: how will they sound with a Creative Zen and music loaded @ 160kbps? I have an 8G Zen that just doesn't hold enough music at 192kbps or higher. The 160 seems to me to be the best compromise between music quality and allowable space. Will these Panas require me to download at higher bit rates? Thanks! |

I actually do both. Most of the music is downloaded off the Internet, but now I even rip my CDs to the Zen @ 160kbps due to the space limitations. |

Have you used VBR?
Well, I could listen to a 16kbps recording over the HJE900s without cringing or anything (still sounds like liquid manure, though), just a massive loss in details.
