I currently have the Bayer Dynamic Velvet/Velour pads on my hfi-780's, but I'm wondering if there might a better fitting (read -SNUG) pad that I could use. Here's a few pics:
I hope SOMEONE has an alternate suggestion for me. PS: There's a circuit board inside the HP's, anyone know what that's for? I'm surmising it's a circuit breaker/voltage normalization switch. I'd love it if I could get a bit more (correct) detail on this. tds01

I’ve read that the circuit board in the audio path is some kind of overload protection. Sorry can't help on the pads ...

I've heard of people removing it to improve the sound quality. I wonder if removing the diode board would mean that the phones require greater care so that you don't blow them...
I might be ballsy enough to do that if it were safe... Oh and Grats for finally picking up a pair

The Beyer DT250 pads would cost me about 50 Euro... damn bastards and their shipping costs. Since it's such a total ripoff here in Austria, I'm still living with the sweaty stock pleather pads.

I like the stock pads :P. Plus I heard changing the pads changes the sound signature. They make my ears sweaty though...

I just got another (re: cheap!!!) set of these, and I got the ones with the short cord again. I find I actually appreciate the sound sig this time around,...and I new I would. Those D2000's have given me a new look on things. Funny, huh???

Beyer DT250 pads are the same size as Sony MDR-V6 pads... Not sure if the Ultrasone is also the same size.

BTW, these Pearstone velvet earpads fit the hfi-780 perfectly. They're slightly shallow, but they work good IMO. And I notice no change the the sq.
