I'm going to have to purchase one. I'm not use to charging with a usb cable via a computer. I'm too use to the traditional plug into the AC outlet to recharge a device method.

WalkGood, good suggestion. And I have, many times, even prior to actually purchasing the J3.

The FAQ doesn't actually say anything about wall/ac adapters that's why I asked. Anyway, thanks.

That is more definitive. The ac adaptor works for these Cowons: AC adapter for COWON S9 / iAUDIO E2 / COWON J3

The it says "Compatible with all iAUDIO/COWON Models" ???

it seems to match perfectly with the cheap plastic of the j3. Just kidding!

I did place the order though. Will let the forum know if it actually charges or not.

Oh I feel like an idiot. I thought these wall chargers had a special Cowon connector but it's really just a standard USB connector. Damn. I already have one that works. LOL. I just tried and it's charging my J3. Amazon already has started processing the order so I can't cancel the order. Stupid me.

Learn from my mistake future reader. This is just a standard USB wall adaptor charger that works with many, many different portable devices.

It's cheap and light and something is loose inside--it makes a sound like some plastic part is loose within the adapter--but it still seems to charge ok. I've used a Kill-A-Watt meter to measure how much electricity it's using when charging: 4 watts. Not bad for $3 and change--including shipping.

It was on sale @ The Source by Circuit city $20 - basically it was a USB wall charger with built-in rechargeable battery which I found pretty cool... Useful if you are craving for music badly for even for 1 extra hour lol... when you are always on the go or stuck in the bus/train/airplane for hours =D

I have a J3 on order (I didn't realize that it did not come with a charger). I DO understand that I can charge via the usb port on my laptop, but that isn't always convenient. I have a wall charger from my old Creative Zen, output is 5v, 2.4A. Assuming the connector (mini-usb) is OK, would it work with the Cowon? Thanks!

+1, I have two AC USB adapters and they're always in use around our house. I just got a new samsung mobile phone and the charger that came with it is the exact same as that AC adapter that Need Balance Control ordered. The cable for the phone disconnects from it and its used to connect the phone to pc. I don't know why more companies don't do it that way, it makes so much sense to me.
