New Firmware 1.23

It improves stability in electric charging

Download Firmware 1.23

How to upgrade firmware: Download the firmware, extract the archive, put the Q2Update.dat file at the root of your player (the root is where all main folders are: music, video, system, pictures etc...), disconnect the player. Turn it on, it will automatically upgrade the firmware. You can check the firmware version in settings>system>about.

Hi lebellium.


So I just updated to this firmware and its 1.23 FR.
I really dislike the volume limitation on the FR versions (my origal was a 1.19 FR) but I'm also very interested in the "electric charging" especialy since the device has a li-poly battery.


* I wanted to ask if you had another "country version" of the 1.23 FW without the sound limitation, but since you havent updated the Samsung Firmware List you probably dont have an international file.

I remembered I had the same problem with another FW upgrade, so I looked some more in the forum, specifically for the volume problem.

I found your config.dat EU file, problem solved!

That thread should be sticky because of the importance of the file.

i bought my q2 in china.The firmware is 1.19cn.Can i use the firmware 1.23 for my q2.

Yes you can. There is a single worldwide firmware with different region codes.
If the RDS feature is available where you live, you can also change the region code from CN to EU

Open the notepad, copy & paste this code, save it as config.txt and then rename it to config.dat
Drag & drop this file to the root of your Q2 (i.e. where all main folders are)

Thus your Q2 may be able to display lyrics but it's not really practical, you have to use EmoDio in Korean setup or the very old Samsung Lyrics Station.
