no title information on .m4a files...?!

hi...

i have several songs in the m4a format... the player can open (but,....very slow....) and play the files.
but you only see the filename without extension as title name and the other information are not shown....

the files are tagged with WinAmp and windows media center (win7 ultimate) can read the tags correctly

my question...: why does the p3 not read these tags....??

What version tags do they have? My guess is the tags are not compatible with the P3. Tag a file with mp3tag and see if that helps.

MP4 tags are not read by Samsung DAP.

AAC LC ADTS with APEv2 tags are fully compatible though.
But with a normal AAC file with .m4a extension and MP4 tags, that's normal.
And you cannot change the tag version with mp3tag. It's only MP4

yes. sadly, I convert all the .m4a files that I but off or iTunes.(*gasp*)
because I have a mac, I use the converter "max", but I must say that I don't know that to recommend for PCs.

ok... which format can you recommend for m4a files copied from and audio disc with 320kbps and 44100 kHz....
wma...flac...aac...mp3....????
i don´t know which is good for the p3...
