@ $239.99 for 16gb, makes you wonder what they'll want for the 32gb :/

Ah man, i hope you are wrong Marv...that is a bit steep at $349USD if that comes to pass...Even though I have some major lust for J3, I might wait, both for prices to drop and for the first batches to come thru...

sry, but i call bullshit on that one. the j3 pricing is similar if not identical to the s9 initial pricing. it will most definitely cost around or exactly $299.
i hope that these prices translate to europe (especially germany ) though i wonder why we don't get the price cuts they introduced in their homeland skorea.

I’m amazed how easily rhetorical questions are overlooked It was a sarcastic statement on how expensive the 16 GB price point is and indicating the 32 GB will be more. My guess would be that deadohiosky is on target with the $299 price, which is also high IMO ...

It is now available in Canada as well:

EDIT: Furthermore, the 8 GB and 16 GB J3s are about $20 cheaper than their S9 counterparts listed on the same online retailer (NCIX).

My guess is $320, since the 16 Gb is $40 more than the 8 Gb, or $5 more per GB.

For a while I thought the D2+ was expensive. Now it seems like a great bargain compared to the J3! So if the 32 GB J3 is $320, and a 32 GB micro SDHC card is $200, how many people will rush to pay $520 for this combo?

A 16 GB D2+ and a 32 GB SDHC card for it is only around $220 total, half the price of a 16 GB J3 plus a 32 GB micro SDHC card.

Apple adds $100 to double the RAM. Doesn't matter at what level. If 16gb is $40 more, then 32gb would be another $40, or $279.99. Of course Samsung isn't Apple, so they might go to $299.99 since it's an easy round-up.

your guess goes pretty much against the pricing strategy they followed thus far . why should the 32gb version cost more than the rsp of the s9 32gb which is $299?

both, the 8gb and 16 gb follow that same strategy. and again the official cowon shop in korea lists them actually cheaper than their s9 equivalents and in retail shops they are listed even cheaper.

i think $299 rsp is spot on, anything else would show great failure in market analysis on cowon's part.

these prices make me glad I nabbed a 16gb S9 for $160 As much as I would love to have a J3, the benefits don't outweigh that price. $100+ more to have a speaker and microSDHC slot? no thanks, considering the high capacity cards are still pretty expensive. I'll just suck it up and have one or two movies on with my music.

A 16 GB micro SDHC card is only around $35. It is the 32 GB micro SDHC cards that are ridiculously priced at around $200. Full sized 32 GB SDHC cards are only around $75.

One could use a full sized SDHC card with a player with a micro SDHC card slot by using this adapter. I wonder how many people are doing this? I guess most are doing it with cheaper players like the Fuze, Clip+, or R0. If one spends $200 or more for the player, they probably won't be so frugal when buying a memory card.

If there will be a 64 GB J3, it might be closer to $500 than to $400. After all, a 32 GB micro SDHC card is around $200.

Can the J3 support 64 GB of songs? What are the song limits for main memory and for card memory?

why do you compare j3 pricing with micro sd card pricing?

i mean, are you really comparing internal flash memory with "micro" sd card (flash)memory? what are you trying to imply here?

the 32 gb micro sd cards are so expensive because they 1. where only recently introduced by sandisk 2. aren't available at retail shops, yet and 3. sandisk is the only manufacturer at the moment that announced the start of production of 32 gb cards. prices will go down significantly once other manufacturers jump on the wagon and ofc when they are widely available.

again, i'm sorry but i really can't understand your price assumptions. a hypothetical 64 gb j3 would most likely cost around 380 to 400 $. what makes you think they would cost 64 gb?

Hopefully in time these things will become more easonably priced. If not, there are other options. Sorry Cowon, but some of us aren't fan boys who will pay any price asked for no matter how high it is. There are other choices.

I'm surprised you aren't complaining that it doesn't use AAA batteries.
