For the past few months I had been using CX 400 Sennheiser earphones and had no problems with them until recently when the left ear cut out completely. I decided to get a pair of CX400 II. I cant really decide if they sound as good as the CX400, they seem to have a clearer sound overall but some of the low end punch is gone, but the main problem is that if I turn the volume up on the fuze the playback through these headphones is choppy, the sound cuts out and the higher i put the volume the worse it gets. I'm not talking seriously loud or anything, just about more than 2/3 of the volume bar on the fuze. I made sure that it was only the earphones and not the fuze by testing other earphones and they work fine. I thought maybe the volume control on the earphones was at MAX and was overdriving the headphones, but even at MIN volume the sound still cut out.
I got them from the amazon marketplace, I had only recently been aware that there were fakes around, so I'm wondering if I have a fake pair. Has anyone else encountered this problem when using these earphones with the fuze? Could anyone link me to a good guide on how to identify fakes for CX400 II, I could only find CX400 ones, and some of them have conflicting opinions. Thanks |

Hey there, sorry for your woes...
Can't help you with identifying fake/real CX400 series phones [though I am sure someone here on ABi can]... However, it does seem as if you have a problem pair of Senns. The proof is that the issues you describe is not present using other earphones. I am a new Fuze owner and have had zero issues with all 5 of my IEMs... good luck! -lestatar

Thanks for the reply! I've pretty much concluded that these are fakes.
Its quite a mysterious problem, I can plug the headphones into other units e.g computer and put the volume up higher than it is on the fuze and it doesn't cut out. Can anyone recommend me a good pair of not so expensive isolating ear phones? |

btw, do you have the volume limit on the Fuze set to high?
And what is your price range? Music types?

if the headphones work in your computer and not the fuze, then the mp3 player is the problem, not the headphones.
