Default So now what.

Im interested to think what you guys is going to happen

Do you think it will be patched?
Will "hackers" run 3rd party apps?
Or will Microsoft open up and maybe give us more freedom such as official SDK'S and others.

I don't see any reason for them to patch this or try to shut it down. And if they do patch it i think alot if not all of ZuneHD owners will just drop the ball, even people who didn't care for apps are very exicted.
And destroying this great possibility will just be a disaster.

I think it depends if the hack would take a lot of work to patch...MS never did anything to prevent the hacking that went on for years with windows mobile...

i doubt they will patch it...there is no real reason to IMO. just deny warranty help if it has been "hacked" its not like it is costing them any money. all it is going to do is make more people buy the zune...nothing wrong with that.

I can see them defiantly patching it if somehow they out that the hack allows a way to either mess with the DRM or with the firmware itself. In which case they will mostly likely issue a fix so that they will still be able to have control over most of the device.

Seems like an easy patch to me, not that I want it to happen. Hopefully this whole hack thing can lead to more freedom via official ways.

I hope this finally shows the Zune Team that a ton of ZuneHD owners want apps, heck some people is considering to buy a ZuneHD just for this hack alone.... C'mon Zune Team... Apps for ZuneHD is what we want, plain and simple!!!

Sad thing is that in the end they will do what they want regardless of what people want. I'm sure there are more apps and games coming but how many no one can be certain except for Dave and his team and they are tight lipped.

I really don't care to much about the apps BUT I will say this. IF they are working on apps\games and want to get them out at top quality then they are going to do very few.
I see no reason not to release whats done so far instead waiting to do a mass release which is what seems to be the plan.

I don't understand the point of patching it because all its doing is helping their product and they are going to gain costumers because of it.

This is what I was hoping would happen to the HD. I went through it with the PSP, then the touch, and now my Zune. Im hoping to run in landscape mode with some UI tweaks, I really dont care to get a ton of apps, I have a touch for the apps. Now i only wish the HD had blue tooth for wireless headphones.
