Why the hell does everyone ask if the J3 has wifi, especially since it's been stated over and over that it DOESN'T??? Only the Cowon Q5W had wifi, that's the ONLY Cowon player that did, and apparently that will.

Don't forget about the W2, even though it isn't a PMP, and hasn't been released yet. It does have wifi.

the W2 won't hit stores in the US or even the UK? the only Device similar to the W2 was the Q5 and it failed as a Device to what it SHOULD have done. like the L3, L2, Etc. all those Devices are only for Korea/Japan/China

you can though find the W2 @eBay. only COWONs actual PMPs make it elsewhere. the W2 has been around for sometime and i would think COWON would of already released it here in the US but sadly they just don't

Theres always the Viliv S5 if your looking for something like the V2, I myself think the Viliv S5 would be the better bet as it has more tactile buttons and has somewhat of a joy-stick/directional pad.

I got an j3 three days ago I am very very happy with the build quality, Sound and Interface... once I got use to it.

1. where is the headphone jack: bottom

2. does it have wi-fi? No, Unknown you will have to ask the Oracle

3. does it auto-rotate ala an acceleromoter? Yes on some screens but not all. It’s a minor thing anyway once you get over the novaltiy of it. You can sit there and swing it in your hand and watch the icons swing back and fourth.

4. does it have built-in games? Yes kinda nice but I don’t game much.

5. does it have playlists like in the Samsung P3? yes

6. can you add & delete music into those playlist on-the-fly like the Samsung P3? Haven’t tried yet im
still learning

7. does it have a dictionary? Yes a Korean to xxxxx language dictionary. Useless to me.

8. does it have a world clock? Yes in every screen and also two widgets.

9. can you pair it with ANY bt-enabled devices like speakers or mobile phone for that matter? Haven’t tried yet.

10. does the FM radio have RDS i.e displays the station's name? yes but no RDS

11. will the international version also have the browser and the DMB (which the UK also happens to support) like the korean version? Consult the Oracle

12. can it do pinch-to-zoom in viewing photos like the iPod. No don’t think so. Can’t test because Im reloading my songs in flac

13. can you edit or customise the EQ settings to you liking - yes as much as you would ever want

14. if it support microSD cards wil it play ANY videos – Still testing

15. will it support MKV format? Haven’t tested

16. does it support TV-out capability? and will it come with a TV-out cable? yes

17. will it support 720p video? Should be it come with a HDMI adapter.

18. will it come with an adaptor to suit each countries voltage? I m sure they will

19. will Cowon be offering firmware updates more often . Only if it needs it. The goal should be none needed

Hey g.711, can you post pictures of your J3 with the clear case? Want to see how it looks with the case on it.

Sorry tis gone. Hated the case, its cheap and not worth it. While taking it off the tabs broke so it went into the recycle bin.

Haha, the plastic "case" only protects the back. I hated it too and threw mine out.

I'm pretty sure they used Gorilla Glass on the J3, just like the S9, so you really don't need a case.

Does J3 support bookmarking for audio (mp3) file?

I want to use to listen to audiobook (mp3) which the size (and the duration) is very long (some audiobook files duration are in hours).

i'm from the UK and it's been officially released here. i am planning to buy one on my next salary day and i want to ask more:

1. can you change the wallpaper/skin on this one?

2. does the dictionary comes as an english dictionary i.e. region-specific (like if released in the US or the UK)

3. does it support .mkv files?

4. where do i download more flash-based games?

5. where do i look for "apps" to download? (like say maybe unit converter, etc.)

6. how does one download the fimrware? and considering the firmware is only available on the korean site will this firmware be "ok" with J3's bought in the US or the UK?

7. does it do bluetooth "tethering" with a wireless/bt-enabled headphone or speakers?

Does it sound similar to the s9 (I hope it doesn't)?

According to this article, gapless is enabled by default. I couldn't tell you about the sound quality, though.

@gino: A lot of your questions are answered here. The FAQ might be a little dated, but it's a good start until someone who actually owns a J3 can give you more info.

What I'd like to know is if the J3 will play back extended M3U playlists. I think I heard the S9 does, but I want to be absolutely sure.
