I'd like to add subtitles as a request. If I'm playing a video on the dock on the TV, I would like to have the option to display subtitles. My father's hard of hearing and needs them, and without them, he's often unable to make out what people are saying on the Zune.

You can do it. All you need is the .srt subtitle file and something that can merge an .srt with a video file.
That's the only way to do it (I don't think any portable players have .srt support).

I don't understand why you would want to zoom in. You are cutting out part of the video. If I'm wrong, that is probably because the videos I watch are mostly in 16:9.

Well, depending on the video in question, sometimes, zooming in can provide a big clarity boost (it does for all my movies). I just hate the idea that I could miss something on the edges. Ah, the bloody bane of 16:9.

As for the topic, if it hasn't been added already, I would like more control over the browser, as in control over the cache and how it handles data loads.

Another one I just thought of: ability to stream musics, videos and photos from NAS.

I store a lot of my medias, mostly videos on a NAS and being able to stream that to the Zune and from the computer as well would be nice because currently it only stream from the marketplace.

NAS can't stream anything... it's just storage that has to be connected to a computer. And, as you know the zune software doesn't stream to the device.... now that might be an interesting feature to add.

I should have phrase my statement better. I meant to say the Zune has the ability to retrieve or access media files from a NAS. And yes, the ability to have the Zune software stream medias should be interesting.

Sometime i keep forgetting to pause the music, radio or turn off the wifi when not in use, so the results are when i get back to my zHD my battery has been eaten up....

So Im thinking of Zune adding a feature where you hold the power button for 3 seconds and thier is another option to slide the panel up for sleep mode which pause music/radio and shuts of wifi.

I think it would be nice, just for me lol.... version 4.5.1 [lem edition]

Looks a tad unfriendly, although I like the concept. I have my HD plugged in so often, though, that battery is almost a non-issue.

What I would like to see is a port of the WP7 Lock Screen. You know, with a date. And other information.

I saw a lock screen concept of WP7 on WMPoweruser.com where you can swipe sideway to get other informations such as weather, musics, news, etc... I think this would be a neat implementation for both Zune and WP7.

- Better browser (w/ full screen mode)
- Add clock on 'media button' screen
- improve GUI somehow
- user customizations (menu background, themes, etc )
- shake to shuffle o.O
- overclocking tegra chip o.O
- OTA podcast download
- change the 'media button' GUI on the 'Video' because it covers the video when you want to FF or RW

-Dave: their is somehow a browser bug(?) which sometimes doesn't make my ZuneHD not connect to the router.... Its a common problem around the internet.

From the last time we added our own requests, I thought it would be a great idea if we could control the Zune software (on the PC), using our Zune HDs. It would be fairly simple to implement, and could be very useful for parties etc.

I don't think I've heard these before, but I'd like them:

1) Either add repeat and shuffle buttons to the now playing screen or make it possible to access the now playing screen from anywhere (say...from within an app).

2) In Audiosurf, replace Help with Main Menu. Where Main Menu was, display the Longest Streak and the Percentage Hit. Or you can put it to the left of the Unlock Points Earned.

2.1) Change the scoring for Audiosurf so that it's based on a multiplier. So that getting a long streak actually is worth something. Scale the medals and unlock points accordingly.

2.2) More game versions for Audiosurf. More lanes, possibly?

3) Change controls for Texas Hold 'em to buttons. It's fancier the way it is now, but it's more complicated than it needs to be.

4) Better responsiveness in Hexic.

5) More stuff in MSN Weather. There's plenty you can add. Weather maps, Hour-by-Hour weather. Right now, it lacks functionality, I think.
