Custom EQ (Equalizer) is used to balance (or 'equalize') frequencies in music even further to precisely match your ears.
For most people, it's completely unnecessary, since music is typically balanced well.

When it comes to EQ, from what I can see from reading around on this forum, it's either very essential or it's useless to members on this forum. However, from what I have seen, audiophiles demand EQ from the Zune HD

- DON'T RESET when 3rd party apps are exited
- Thumbnails for videos should be chosen not just a random part of the video
- Maybe a music visualizer?
- Hate to be like everyone else, but a Yotube APP!

Bugs that need to be fixed
- On facebook you can't select the status update anymore it just tells you where it originated from
- When you start the browser there is a odd white block there

yeah i would love png support...also maybe a search bar for music? i remember my zen micro had one..haha.
Also, maybe an easier way to find videos and pictures in collection instead of lining them on top of each other.

My two requests would be:

• Custom EQ
• Wireless remote (to control the Zune software on the PC with the ZuneHD over Wifi)

Here's a good one:

-In Social, make it so we can view messages directly on the device without needing to view on the computer.
-change Social so we can send/receive messages from [ZuneID]@zunehd.net, with an interface like the Windows Phone 7 Outlook.
-add to Social the ability to receive playlists and songs from friends and have them show album art, then start downloading from the Marketplace.

Two more firmware requests:

-in the browser, add a 'share to facebook' button (little Facebook F icon) to share your webpage to Facebook, and a 'post to Twitter' button.

-in Facebook, if I open something in the browser, then allow me to back out of that and still return to facebook instead of exiting the app.

Here is one more thing I thought of.

Volume Options: Currently when you restart or turn off the Zune HD, the volume will be reseted to the default volume of 14. This can be annoying to some users.

I think a volume option with the following would be nice.

Default - The default volume of 14 will be set every time the Zune HD is turned on.

User Defined - The user can set any volume level and this will be the new default every time the Zune HD is turned on.

Last Volume - The volume would be the last volume setting before the Zune HD is turned off.
