Default Microsoft Mystery Event On April 12, New Product Announcement

According to Engadget, Microsoft is having a mystery event where apparently they will share something new. Whatever it might be is up to our imagination right now.

The Zune hd 64 gig is slated to be released that day.

I doubt it has anything to do with Zune HD. With all the iPad news going around I'm willing to bet it's about the Courier as Engadget mentioned.

I don't see why Microsoft would create a special event just for an update to Zune HD. Perhaps they could announce that the Zune HD will get Windows Phone 7. That would make a lot of people happy. However, most people guess it will be the Pink phones. Although the Courier has been thrown around too.

This is almost certainly Project Pink, #Unicorn, #TMDP, or whatever they call it now. Don't get your hopes up for Courier.

Could it be the non-phone WP7? At least we don't have long to wait, so I can hold off buying a Zune HD until then.

Yeah, like above... don't expect courier quite yet. This is probably the sidekick follow up (pink) for the young folks. If they make it relatively inexpensive I could see young'ns digging it.

It would be a dream come true for me if WinPO7 was released for Zune HD, but I think it's highly unlikely. I'm guessing it probably has nothing to do with the Zune HD, but it must be something pretty special if MS is having a day for it. Dave, do you know anything about this that you can tell us?

Additionally, the invite to Engadget had 'sharing' themes, which is going to be a key theme of Pink. Hopefully, some Courier/Zune HD news will be imparted at the event as well.

Nothing to forgive - don't sweat it, but I am curious - why the change of heart?

Cheers, Dave.

Got to be this...interesting to see what they will be doing with the pink phones but with the wp7 now out in the open I can't see this being an option for me or my wife...

Seriously? Mate, go back and read your past 7 days worth of posts. All that furor because you didn't think you'd be able to save pics from the browser? And partly due to an event whose topic and theme you're not even sure about?

I love the passion man, but seriously - you need to chill.

Cheers, Dave.

Looks like the Turtle is going to make an appearance on the 12th. When it does appear and if it can see its shadow, what then?

Not what I was hoping for, but a Danger-ous Turtle makes sense.

I think just the fact that the new software has been released has quelled the disension amongst the peasants...

We'll see how long it holds before the cries for V4.7 start to surface. I don't think I've seen a single complaint that V4.5 didn't come with any "surprise" apps/games... interesting.

Probably becuase people believe that the apps and games will come in a week or so. The browser improvements were a nice suprise to everyone. I didn't think the browser would get any faster but it did. Wish the app boot speed was just as fast.
