Default ibasso D4 set up from desktop comp.

Guys..
It's a noob question ,but im getting some RE0's from hifiman and im thinking with their balanced, but reputably 'perfect' output,of driving them from my pc sound card with an ibasso D4.
Now, as i see it,thats my soundcard (soundblaster platinum) headphone output> 3.5mm jack/3.5mm jack> D4 AUX socket>my IEM's coming from the D4 headphone socket powered by 9v battery... correct way for the AMP usage?
Cos if i then try the USB to power them without the 9v battery, then it's a DAC and therefore not amplify my sound, just DAC it?
thanks..im on head fi, and noobs get ignored and slaughtered,so im trusting you guys......

Probably got missed by most, no need for sarcasm …

In a sampling mode of 16-bit, 44 kHz on the soundblaster platinum the intermodulation distortion (IMD) is poor on, you can see here. That said the ibasso D4 works as a DAC+AMP Combo, a standalone AMP or a standalone DAC (Line out function, which means you can plug it into your usb and by pass your sound card and either amp your phones or not. But what I would do is test it both ways and see what sounds best to you.

BTW the head-direct re0’s are 64 ohms so they might sound very good with out an amp and even on a portable player they should be able to hide any flaws well.

..btw ,when you say 'bypass' you mean simply put the amp/dac through a mobo usb and load up the music player software and the computer will recognize the amp/dac and play the files?

Yes, if you connect the USB cable to your computers USB port, your computer should automatically detect and install the USB DAC and you can listen to music with any audio playback software. The signal bypasses or does not go through the onboard sound card untill you remove your DAC/amp. I don’t have the one you have or are getting, so I don’t know the method on it but it states that it can either amp or not amp the signal (there must be a switch on it). The only way you would use it not to amp it, is if you were then sending the signal onto another amp or receiver/amp.

No problem, but I'm confused do you have the D4 or just thinking of ordering one?

Edit: I could be wrong about what I read off their website, but I did find this which should help you http://www.ibasso.com/download/2010226223657.pdf

Edit 2: I was right about either amped or not, but wrong about a switch, it says: "When there is a USB signal inputting, the D4 will provide Line Out on the AUX IN/OUT port, at the same time, provide amplified signal on the Headphone jack."
