Post Progress Bar

I really want to use the Nexus theme, and I copied the backround to the wisp theme, (it was hard, but I won't explain unless needed) but I don't like the way the title is placed and I don't like the "Next song" thing.

just swapping the background won't usually be enough to get the results you want. You'll also need to edit the .wps file to position the elements the way you prefer.

I haven't done any theme adjustments in at least 4 years so I won't be any help. The custom WPS page on the Wiki http://www.rockbox.org/wiki/CustomWPS should either show you or link you to what you need to change.

Thanks. But why doesn't the progress bar work for Nexus?

I pointed you at the Wiki because I don't know. I got tired of screwing around with themes because it seemed just as I got one set the way I liked a theme breaking change made my changes useless.

Fortunately one of the mods here, lebellium, made some that were both functional and aesthetically pleasing for my use so I wasn't stuck with the vanilla Cabbiev2. Not sure how much theme work he does now but it might help if he doesn't answer here to send him a pm to see if he'll look at Nexus and find a solution.

Haven't worked on themes for 1-2 years now but...challenge accepted

The progress bar actually works for Nexus bus is hidden by the progress bar background (progback.bmp). 2 reasons:
- the theme was made in 2010, so 5 years ago when the theme engine was less restrictive. It probably worked by chance at the time
- the theme is not designed properly: I don't see any reason to have a separate progback picture instead of including it into the background.bmp.

Easy fix:
In WPS replace:
Code:
#Progress Bar
%V(20,209,135,5,1)
%xl(H,progback.bmp,0,0,1)
%xd(Ha)
%pb(1,1,133,3,prog.bmp)
by

Code:
#Progress Bar
%V(20,209,135,5,1)
%x(H,progback.bmp,0,0)
%pb(1,1,133,3,prog.bmp)

BTW is there a way that the Nexus theme is conflicting with FreeDoom?

It seems to give me fail safe when I go to the playing screen. Could you just post the WPS file?

When someone posts a theme update you want to follow their directions very literally. In this case

If you do exactly that it works. Replace only the lines of existing code with what leb gave you and it works. Replace everything in the .wps file and you get the fail safe screen.

Edit: I just reread mt original post and realized it seemed overly harsh and didn't provide any real help. I'll see if I can do better here. What leb meant was to replace what he posted with what was in the wps file. It's easiest to do that in a text editor with a simple copy\paste.

That's ok. but the reason may be because it looks like this (this is not the wps file):
wordwordwordwordwordwordwordwordwordwordwordwordwo rdwordwordwordwordwordwordwordwordwordwordwordword wordwordwordwordwordwordwordwordwordwordwordwordwo rdwordwordwordwordwordwordword#progress bar wordwordwordwordwordwordwordwordwordwordwordwordwo rdwordwordwordwordwordwordwordwordwordwordwordword wordwordwordwordwordwordwordwordwordwordwordwordwo rdwordwordwordwordwordwordwordwordwordwordwordword wordwordwordwordwordwordwordwordwordwordwordword

I may have replaced it wrong.

EDIT: It looks different from when I typed it, and as it shows here.

Talking

I couldn't get that .wps file working, so I modded the Wisp theme and made a new progress bar, (and I made it with RockPaint!) and I think i'm satisfied with it.
