Default 32gb Microsdhc is shipping

http://www.gadgetreview.com/2010/03/...-tomorrow.html

This guy is unimpressed, but I'm counting the days until it is not insanely expensive.

That's so underwhelming.

And I stayed up until 04:00 for nothing.....because at that point they still hadn't posted all this crap. Underwhelming is right.

Finally. Been waiting for these forever.

I had a 4gb e200 with a 16GB card... completely filled with about 4000 songs.

I recently upgraded to an 8gb e200. Now I have about 3GB free. I have slowed on my music downloading (I can't think of much more than 4000 songs I want)... so hopefully this will last me until these 32GB cards come down in price. When I get it I plan to have ~20GB of music and ~20GB of movies on my Sansa. That's a lot of stuff on a little player.

What is your price point on these? What price do you think you will make the plunge?

Well 2 16GBs are $70, right? $100 or less, 60 in my money would be fair, but I wouldn't get one ever because of issues I had with 16Gb cards.

Well, there's at least one 32GB player available for less than $200, so the card would have to come down a whole lot in price.

Yeah but the 16GB cards can use cheaper 8GB modules. AFAIK I know theres only room for 2 modules on a microsd card. So that means expensive 16GB modules. I expect them to be expensive for a while until 16GB modules start to drop in price.

I am curious how soon the 32GB SDHC card will come down from initial retail of $200.
I love my e280 (8GB) with a 16GB card giving me 24GB of bliss! Very cost effective player with add-on capability. Rockbox has further added value to this player.

I hope it never fades and works a long time!

PS - Any economists have guesses to how low and how soon pricing would/could be lowered by?

Just bought a 16gb micro sdhc card new off Ebay for $19.79 with free shipping. Should have bought two but my collection is not that big yet. Suppose the 32 gb will drop in half within a year. Have not had any trouble buying off Ebay and that includes two Sansa e280 players.

Eh, I am a sucker. I bought one from Sandisk and forked over the cash. I agree 100% that they're totally overpriced right now, but I just couldn't resist being able to finally be able to add more music to my player again.

Oh well, I guess there could be worse ways to spend money! :P

Hahah yeah I wish! If I win the lottery I'll send you a PM.

But seriously, some people are willing to pay $3 every day for a cup of coffee... Over the course of a year that's $1095 for something that just gets semi-digested and then peed out.

By comparison, $200 for more storage for music that I'll enjoy every day for a year suddenly doesn't sound as frivolous!

Well at least that rationalization made me feel better!
