Hi all, I'm a happy owner of a D2+ 16Gb, with a problem in my database.
All my music is ripped in flac using EAC, and all the tag are written with Mp3Tag. I've put this tag: Artist Album Title Track number Total Track Disc Total Disc When I have a double album, the songs of the 2 cd are mixed looking at the Track Number and at the alfabetical order of Track, so I can't listen to the original order. How can I separate songs of cd1 from songs of cd2??? The easy solution it's to modify the Album tag, including in it the number of cd... but it's normal that the D2 can not ready the Disc tag??? Thanks for the help! |

Album
Artist Title Track That's all that matters here. Since you're in mp3tag anyway, just treat the double album like one long album.

Almost no MP3 player recognizes the disc number tag correctly. For double/triple albums I personally use 101, 102, 103, ... 201, 202, 203 for track number tags, then they play in proper order on any player. Of course you could simply use ongoing, continuous track numbering between the discs as well, if you don't care about the visual separation by track number.

I agree with IanD, just make them one long album. I’ve doing it that way since the early 90’s, because every PC media player and DAP have different tags that are or are not recognized. But if knowing which CD of a double set a track came from is important to you, use dfkt’s method (101,102…201,202). Personally, I just want the tracks to play in order. So I keep it simple, as far as tags, not quite as simple as IanD. I also use the year and genre tags. Lastly, I use a sort artist tag, so I can keep everything in order in Foobar2000 and at the same time keep Last.FM’s tag nazis happy when scrobbling.
The point is, there are all sorts of ways to do tags and this is a hobby. So checkout a few standards, www.musicbrainz.com , is a good resource and find what works for you and your collection. After all, you’re the one that will be whining, if you can’t find a specific track. Good luck and have fun with it.

Good thing the auto-numbering tool in mp3tag makes that so easy
