Portable amplifier for Clip?

i want a portable amplifier for my Clip to improve mid & treble, because i use the Koss portapro for it. you know, the porta has too much bass, so treble is bad . Thanks for your helping!

An amp doesn't improve midrange and treble - an EQ does.

You may want to check out the FiiO E5--a nice and relatively inexpensive portable amp, and which warms up the sound for me.

The FiiO gives you more bass when you turn on the bass boost - the opposite of what the OP wants. Other than that it really doesn't do anything for the Clip and phones like the Portapro.

Your options are basically:

1) Play with the sandisk EQ and see if you can get it to work ok (a lot of people hate it but its probably better then nothing)

2) Use rockbox's EQ (if you have a v1 clip) which can certainly do what you want

3) Find or build some portable EQ

4) Buy a player with good built in EQ

Some portable amps have limited EQ built in, but its usually just a bass boost, which isn't what you want.

Actually, for me, the FiiO E5 in fact alters the sound apart from bass, warming it generally and giving it a simultaneous brightness (in the mid and treble ranges). Not a huge difference, but definitely perceptible.

I agree with your 4 points, but would like to add number 5. The OP can get new headphones or iem's that help produce better mids & highs as he wants.
