Default Firmware 1.14 for Samsung R0!

Here it is finally!

Improvements (google translation)
- Gangnam-gu Office ingang your support
- Not specific to your AAC files, the error improvement
- Music playback, DNSe modes improve your time
- Improved video playback time
- Improve system stability

No mention of the radio preset bug in the change log. Hope it is fixed too. We'll see later when the R0 is fully OFF.

Download firmware 1.14

On European websites, there is a 1.13 version: http://org.downloadcenter.samsung.co...15/R0_1.13.zip
improvements:
- Fix the playback error of some AAC(m4a) files
- Improve battery life of Music DNSe mode & Video playback mode

I don't why they released 2 versions... There are the same and the 1.14 (from the Korean website) works fine.

Caution: These firmwares are hugely bugged and may damage your player so I don't recommand you to upgrade your R0!

In the Spanish site the new version available is 1.13 too. I will try too the radio issue with the 1.13 and see if it's fixed.

Okay, I tested from off mode (and not standby mode)
It seems the radio preset issue has been fixed with the 1.14 firmware

The 1.13 firmware has been made on February, 22nd whereas the 1.14 has been made on February 24th.
Besides, Samsung often privileges its national market, Korea, so I advice you guys to install the 1.14 version rather than the 1.13 version. It's probably the same, maybe a bit better ("system stabilization" written in improvements) but not worse for sure
In any case I have a R0 with 1.13fw and another with 1.14fw and I don't see any difference for the moment

It's like on your TV when it is standby (your turn it off with the remote control and there is often a red LED on the TV) or fully OFF (your turn it off with the button directly on the TV)
In standby mode, the device still consumes energy and as it is not really off, you can turn it on quickly. When the device is OFF it normaly doesn't use energy anymore but when you turn it on again you have to wait longer.

Thus when you turn your R0 off, during several hours it remains in standby mode (if you press the power button, it turns on quickly) and after several hours in standby mode, it finally gets really OFF to save your battery. But then when you press the power button, it tooks about 10 seconds before reaching the home menu

Ah ... thanks

I hope they improve playbacktime with DNSe for some hours. Today I had to recharge it after 8 hours playback (normal use).

Edit: Can I get the Firmware to my R0 without using Emodio ? (I have already download the .rom-file)

Just put the ROM file at the root of your player. You don't need EmoDio

Just to provide more assurance: The radio preset problem is also fixed with 1.13
Maybe 1.14 only improves korean language menus or something like that lol :P

Yep I confirm radio preset issue is fixed in both 1.13 and 1.14 firmwares.
And you may be right for the 1.14 fw

edit:
as regards Battery life improvement, here are the results of my tests:
Music playback with overall MP3 VBR V0 files and some OGG and FLAC files. Display used sometimes (max brightness and display off 1min). Volume=15/30. "MyDNSe" enable: user EG, 3D: 1, BASS: 0, Concert Hall: 0, Clarity: 1
firmware 1.10: 12h30
Firmware 1.14: 16h

Due to huge issues on this firmware I don't recommand anybody to upgrade in fw 1.13 or 1.14 and recommand to wait for the next firmware

Here are the bugs:
-After loading files on the mp3 player, "updating library" stops at 99% and won't complete. After reset, the device displays "system checking", then tries to update library and still stops at 99%

-When some music files (FLAC for instance) are not supported, the R0 crashes instead of skipping the song

-Sometimes the R0 displays "No file" in the library (artist) whereas there are files on the mp3 player and the library is well updated

-The R0 turns off automatically after playing the last song of a file
