Default Does/How Does Using MicroSD Card in Clip+ Affect Performance?

I loved my old clip--until I lost it. I'm thinking of replacing it with a clip+ instead I've never had a device with any kind of micro SD card. Does it affect the performance at any time other than the initial database refresh when you insert it? What I mean is, if you are on play all--shuffle, will it lag/stall/pause skipping between songs that are on the clip and songs that are on the card?

Yes, you get worse batt life when playing songs from the card

It doesn't support gapless anyways for mp3, but no, the menus don't lag. However, if gapless ever does come, it may very likely not work of the msd. If you are not a gapless a fanatic like me, you won't find the gap between songs enough to care about. It's never more than like...1/8th of a sec.
