Default Request an App (to be made)

What kind of App would you like the cowon to have? I've already made a calendar/planner, todo list (wip), and am about to try a guitar tuner as well. what else could it use? post it, I just may make it...

a metronome sounds pretty easy to make, I think I'll try.

a translation dictionary also wouldn't be hard to make, but I would have to have a database of the translations in an easily readable format. like a text file line-by-line, or even an Excel file. If you could find one for me in which the copyright allows for non-profit use and distribution, I'd do that.

A Tabata and HIIT training timer would be great for setting warm-up, High Interval, low interval, rest and cooldown times, there are few on Apple apps.

It will help my sessions a lot (it's pretty hard to follow the intervals and set the watch while running a sprint)

I made a metronome: http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum...160#post444160

it's bare bones, but I'll add more to it later.

Apps I'm going to try to tackle:

Improved Image Browser - a better image browser than the one on the Cowon.
Features I'd like to include
* Bitmap file support (as logn as I can find a way for ActionScript2 to load binary files)
* no limitation on how far you can zoom in
* arbitrary image rotation
* faster browsing ( I don't like how you have to scroll 1 page at a time in cowon's folder viewer for images)

Finance Planner - keep track of monthly bills, arbitrary expenses, and balances.

Password Keeper - keep track of your online passwords for various websites just in case you forget them. will keep them encrypted with twofish.

Improved Music Player
* swiping options for voluime and skipping tracks
I'm not sure I'll actually do this one as that's the only feature I think the current music player is lacking.

FLV Player
Because why shouldn't a Flash based handheld be able to play FLV videos? if the flash bundled with the cowon CAN play flv's, I'm gunna make it happen. *crossing fingers*

Edit: I'm first going to see if Claw's UI for the music player and whatnot have similar features first, I've just now discovered this.

Default Duke Nukem soundboard

ipod has come out with a duke nukem soundboard seen here http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/duke-...327067672?mt=8

i understand this one has copyright laws protecting it but if you can get the voices from other soundboards like http://www.soundboard.com/sb/solrosin.aspx then that would be great

Default Multiple Timers for Recording FM Radio

It's possible now to set up a single timer within a given day. It's limited in that it can only do one event on the day you are setting the "alarm." If an app could be added to the S9 to make it as versatile as the CC Witness it would be great as the FM tuner in the S9 is much more discriminating than the one in the CC Witness.

http://www.ccrane.com/radios/am-fm-r...c-witness.aspx

Not only receives all available AM and FM radio stations but it can also be programmed to record any broadcast in advance (20 Timer recording in total).
Various programmed recording modes and setting the time(Specific Date/Week/Weekly)
Records in mp3 format.

Also some sort of modification to allow direct recording to mp3, rather than wma.

A clock that's properly rotated and has big letters, but no annoying flippy things. Date display would be nice.

Joe, that's not possible. Cowon doesn't give developers that kind of access.

unfortunately I won't be makign any more changes to this as I was using a trial of Adobe Flash CS4 (thats what you can use to edit these .FLA files) and the trial period is up. CS4 is real expensive.

it's still good to have a list like this in these forums.
