NOTE: new version posted a few posts down.
Legal Stuff --- This app is released under the terms and conditions of the GNU General Public License version 2.0 What is it --- This is a flash calendar / planner designed specifically for the Cowon S9. It hasn't been tested much but so far it seems pretty functional. If there are any problems please let me know by emailing me. Notes --- Flash only allows 100k to be stored, which for this app is quite a bit, but I still suggest using the purge feature once in a while, or you can manually delete dates if you'd like to keep some. The calendar's layout is a bit funny, but was chosen because it fits the Cowon's display better so the "day buttons" can be as large as possible. I just had a thought,
The calendar doesn't acknowledge leap year. that'll be fixed in the next release. |

Another release, I'm calling this one version 1.0 since it has all the features such an app should have. enjoy!
fixed in this version --- * Now properly acknowledges Leap Year * minor visual adjustments * slightly different key layout on the typer (perhaps more QWERTY-like) * typer now has CAPS LOCK button * better "shared object" efficiency * other minor bugs features I want to add later --- * another keyboard "mode" with more symbols and whatnot * an enter key onthe keyboard * scroll bars on the "to do" text area * proper scrolling on long lines in the typer |

i did notice something odd...in may 2010 the calender is odd, the dates 30 and 31 are all teh way over to the left, and of course the dates on the right end at 29...i guess the layout got off somehow? just letting you know...and thanks again this is really nice

thx for app, now I don't have to use those dreaded school planners.
one suggestion though, why not just make the app landscape so the dates aren't vertical? Or maybe have it as an option so there's a choice. |

Thanks for the calender though I'm experiencing some problems. Sometimes, the keyboard doesn't work properly. Could you perhaps use the standard keyboard ?

I suppose I could add a vertical keyboard in there.
what problems are you experiencing? the "typist" program is a thing all it's own and as far as I know there's no way to utilize it with a flash app. |

You should make the keyboard more like a standard keyboard, rather than this cellphone-esk keypad. It takes so much longer for me to enter info with the current set up. Also you should make a landscape variant. If you need anyone to help you with UI Design, i can help you(just send me a PM)

Nice little calendar. A return to present date button would help. Maybe a long press on month/year would do it? Possibly also make it so that delete can't be pressed on a date with no entry.
I managed to lock it up enough that I had to turn the S9 off to get out of it. I could still enter characters, although they were blue, but pressing del or done did nothing, and pressing the pause/play button wouldn't close the app. I've not been able to reproduce it though. |

I was having a similar problem like wolrik. I couldn't press delete or done (though the play/pause button still worked)

did any buttons at all work at that point? if you could manage to produce the steps taken to lock it up again that'd be great.

New Version 1.0.1
* removed next/previous month buttons * touch calendar and slide left to change month to next * touch calendar and slide right to change month to previous * touch calendar and slide down to change year to next * touch calendar and slide up to change year to previous * touch "current date" to change date to current year/month * delete doesnt work on empty days now this version IS compatible with data from the previous release. |

Looking good. Could do with an apostrophe though, IMO. Maybe replace the $? The calendar will be used by different nationalities and $ will be of no use to lots of people. It's moneyist.
![]() Swiping left to go forward, and vice versa, seems the wrong way to me. Any calendar on a computer I've used has always used the right arrow key, or a right facing arrow icon, to move forwards through months and years. I thought the pause between pressing characters on the same key could do with being shorter When it locked up on me, I could enter characters, but couldn't use Done or Del. I've not been able to reproduce it and unfortunately don't remember what I was doing at the time. edit: it just locked up again. I entered garbage into a date, clicked Done then clicked the same date to edit it and it locked up on the edit screen. I could get out of it with the pause/play button. I managed to get it to lock up a second time doing a similar thing, and this time I had to press reset to get out of it. I've now managed to get it to lock up a few times, but it's difficult to figure out what is causing it as I am entering garbage all the time by randomly tapping keys. Possibly in normal use it would be ok. Sometimes when it locks up, the first 3 qwerty keys can still be used, but no others. Last edited by wolrik; 02-21-2010 at 01:03 PM. |

I think I've found a serious glitch. Sometimes (at first it was every time) I enter a new message for any day and I press 'done' it just puts it in an entirely different year.
I.e. I was just entering garbage on 18th March 2010. But I press done, it puts the message on 18th March 2004 =s But other than that, I think it's pretty good now. The swiping direction is good. Say, are you going to going to improve the calender's looks ? EDIT: The only thing that's bugging me is the keyboard. I can't seem to work with it =s Last edited by Vulture; 02-21-2010 at 01:48 PM. |
