ive made a new version of the 'zen daft' app by jespuur called: zen trek. it's 24mb from all those wav filesso expect a long download.
http://www.mediafire.com/?vwzimizmzwg ![]() ive fixed the graphics, fixed some code, added 2 more rows of samples, spiffed up the splash screen, etc. all samples are original series star trek, and they're as big as i could make them and still get all of them to play. I do have some bugs and i hope that you geniuses can help me on that. mainly: -sometimes wont play some of the samples on the top row and - tried to animate the logo in the splash screen so it slides out from the left but was unable to do it without a bunch of lag. from the impression that im getting, you have to create all your screen collateral (images, bg, text, etc) and redraw your image to give an image the appearance of movement...otherwise it leaves a trail across the screen of all the redrawn image instances. has anyone been able to animate an image without having to do this? update: accelerometer now working so that when you flip the player upward on it's Z axis, it plays the chirp from the communicator...now you can pretend like you're calling sulu. Tried this. Though I'm not a fan enough of Star Trek to understand what the sounds refer to really. =P Have only seen one or two episodes ever.

I think you are probably right about running out of memory.
I was able to fix the issue with the splashsound not playing, and the background not drawing on a second run by doing this: - In main.lua ... Move the two "dofile" lines before the "--Load Images" comment line Add these lines at the end of main.lua (after the while loop) ... imgBg:close(); work_it:close(); make_it:close(); do_it:close(); makes_us:close(); harder:close(); better:close(); faster:close(); stronger:close(); more_than:close(); hour:close(); our:close(); never:close(); ever:close(); after:close(); work_is:close(); over:close(); a1:close(); a2:close(); a3:close(); a4:close(); a5:close(); a6:close(); a7:close(); a8:close(); In splash.lua ... Uncomment all the splashsound lines After the newly uncommented splashsound:close() line add ... background:close(); logo:close(); Dan |

it works pretty good havent seen any hangups yet.
I think it would have been cool to have some sound bits from the star trek characters instead of only sound effects but still fun to play with. Thanks for the hard work :-) |

Youc ould have decreased the filesize by not delivering the .psd files because they are not necessary for Zen
