Default Might have fried my player, help?

Ok so, I was plugging a USB hub to my PC to add a few more usb ports, and the power cable for it must have been bad or something (its pretty old). The problem is, in the USB ports next to the one I was plugging the hub into, I had my ZV:M and a Netgear adapter plugged in. The hub never worked, didn't think it would since its old, but then I noticed that the Netgear adapter wasn't working. I didn't notice until later that my Zen wouldn't turn on either. This could have been caused by something else, but I assume that the USB hub power adapter sent too much power through and fried it. However the actual USB ports on the Pc are perfectly fine.

Now what I really want to know is, do you think that the whole player would have been fried, or just the battery? If I could simply just replace the battery (though Idk how much that would cost) that would be great. I Have about 1200 songs that I don't have backed up anywhere else on it .

If guys could help me out that would be great, this seems like a nice community.

First, try resetting the player and then try turning it on again.

If this doesn't work, then plug your player into your computer's USB port (not a hub), and check to see if the blue light by the player's power switch starts blinking. If so, then leave your player to charge overnight. If, however, the light does not start blinking within a half an hour, then there's a good chance your player is fried.

USB ports work trying to guess if the device attached to them is a "high current hungry thing" or a "low power thing", If it can't gess, is very common that the port works on low power mode, or it doesn't work at all (It will never try to fry whatever is attached to it). This is the reason because they always tell you to hook your devices directly to the port, not to a hub, so there will be less chances of recognition or power problems.
You sould try to recharge from a wall charger, make reset, and then connecting it to your computer again (With no hub in the middle). Good luck.
