Thanks man. I'd appreciate it if you gave it a shot! I've probably half way done with the coding...Got some physics problems to solve mainly and then I can put out an alpha release.

i might be able to help you with the sound..should it also be loosely based off of the game or not. also do you want it to be 8-bit sounding?

@jerzmacow - If you want to contribute I'd gladly accept it!

As to the direction, it might make more sense when I get new sprites. The music should kind of reflect the style, I feel like. Old school NES-looking sprites vs newer, shinier and fancier sprites would call for different sound schemes. Ultimately I'd leave it up to you (or whomever) does the work.

Just added video from youtube. I don't have a great camcorder so it looks very washed out...that's the reason I included a screenshot.

It's obviously still an early build. I feel pretty good about it overall but the physics and enemy AI are kicking my ASS. It seemed a lot easier when I conceived it in my head.

Right now there is just one level, but with the level engine I can create additional levels in less than 2 minutes. There is no scoring. The player dies immediately when touched by an enemy, rather than losing a balloon. I'm also not sure about control scheme yet. Currently you tilt the zune to run and tap the screen to fly.

Some features I'm not even sure I'll ever do are the lightning bolts from clouds and the giant fish that swims in the water. We'll just see how it goes....I write code all day for a living so it's been hard to come home and be motivated to continue this. Plus the last few days I've been doing this AT work so I need to be a good employee for a few days and try not fiddle with this anymore.

Wow I'm impressed (from that video), I'd love to try this out if I had a ZHD. Great job!
