Well, that's actually the exact problem that I was fearing. The thing is, I find some of the Japanese artists that I know on the Zune marketplace, but all of their names are rewritten with English characters. Examples of this include Kobukuro(コブクロ), Ikimono Gakari(いきものがかり), Shikao Suga(スガシカオ), and Kaela Kimura(木村カエラ).
So I figured that a solution can be made if I just make a new artist with a new SSID(or whatever it's called) and upload it to your ZuneConsole server. But what I'm afraid of is that ZuneConsole may not support Artist parameters(like names, albums, songs, etc.) written in Unicode. Would it be possible to implement support of Unicode to your software?

P.S. good job with the GBA emulator design concept! I personally liked yours the most

As I understand it, ZuneConsole doesn't affect any language restrictions that are present in the ZuneHD firmware. So if the ZuneHD fails to support Unicode, ZuneConsole isn't going to change that. Am I right, Christoph680?

Yea, you're right. Currently there's no way to alter the firmware to use charsets that are not supported out of the box.

I'll try and see what the Zune displays if I actually feed it chinese/japanese characters

@mrfail: Yes, I am currently in the process of writing the server in PHP as well as the C++ client downloader (damn, downloading with sockets sucks xD guess I'm gonna bite the apple and try compiling libcurl for Windows Mobile).

@WOOT:
See above As for the P.S: Thanks ^^ Although spike's concept does look nice I usually prefer a UI that fits with the rest of the device.

Wow, that looks amazing! Can't wait!

The Zune HD displays CJK characters fine as long as they are in unicode. Typing them is a completely different story as Microsoft only provides the Zune with an English keyboard (though this is understandable since Zune HD is only officially released in the US)

Well, since the whole artist information typing and entering is handled via a php server app on any local computer that has internet access (could be done with the zune as well, but then there's the english keyboard problem again), there shouldn't be a problem with unicode characters

Alright, quick update.. the server's coming along quite well.
Also, downloading files from the internet to your zune works now as well. So here's a quick list of what's left to do:

- Finish server
- Add correct downloading mechanism for file to the Zune
- Copy downloaded files into the right directories

Soo, the server's pretty much done, I'm putting some finishing touches on the apps UI and downloader.

Greets,
