Whether it was 2009s best portable device.

Mine has been fine - in 11 months I've had no issues at all with it. I couldn't say that about the Clip+ (although I love that, too).

There are too many "people with busted P3s threads" atm.

For a fact thats true...Many people are facing issues with the P3 but many issues occur due to ignorance by the users themselves....I simply love mine...And havn't faced a problem since the 6 months i have been having it with me.
The firmware updates have ceratinly boosted the UI responsivness to the next level...The screen is crisp and clear...And the price...Simply amazing at how low the prize is for such a good player...And the sound is simply awesome too....For me its the best i have seen this year...

I voted the Cowon D2 (introduced in late 2006) as best gadget of 2009... Shows how incredibly ridiculous Engadget is. They obviously don't even know about the S9 - or about the Clip+ which superseded the older Clip they have on their list. That silly poll is not even worth mentioning.

Yours and mine have been fine, but if someone's P3 touchscreen stops working then that's hardly down to their ignorance.

Well...the P3 is at the bottom but it was included in the list....So that itself proves its capability...I am totally in love with it...
Like the Zune HD too coz of its wifi support,Screen and Sound

I have to agree with you on that....But,its everyones wish...You like it,You Vote for it..I love it...So i simply started the thread....Anyways,as i already said above Zune HD nd D2 are great too...

Grrr, the Ipod Touch is winning. I love my P3 (in a "love" to electronic device way), but I'm disappointed at the results. (Mainly the fact that the iPod Touch is winning)

Me too Dissapointed.....I hate Ipod's...Only coz the two Ipod Nanos i had,all broke down on their own...
