Hi all
A few weeks ago I bought a pair of Sennheiser CX300iis from Play for £15 (great price!). They sound great in general, but I'm convinced that the right 'phone is slightly weaker on bass. I thought I'd give it a while to see if maybe one of the phones needed a bit of burn in to match the other, but that doesn't seem to have worked. The right 'phone just doesn't sound right to me on 80% of sources I've listened to. However I'm not sure it sounds sufficiently broken to be successful if I try to RMA it ![]() Any ideas? Has anyone had any experience of this kind of thing? |

Are you sure they are real?

I think so, they were bought at full retail price from play.com, and came in the proper Sennheiser 'eco' packaging. Nothing about them feels fake. These are CX300-II, not the originals, if that makes a difference (I bought these to replace a set of the originals which I lost)
The difference is pretty subtle, but it's enough to annoy me.. i can't just stick the phones in and be relaxed with the sound. It feels like I have to constantly adjust them in my ear, although they do fit perfectly (as did their predecessors, and at least two pairs of IEMs before them..) |

If it doesn't sound right, go through the trouble of the RMA ...

+1. Not a good sign a few weeks in. Cable issues become worse over time. You'll probably lose all sound out of one channel eventually.
