Default X-Com: UFO Defense

There's a neat little flash version of the game right here:

The thing is, I think the posted version is a bit borked. My S9 is actually capable of doing as much with this version of X-Com as my computer can, which is to say I can press 'new game' and click on the difficulty buttons all I want.

Still, I was surprised that I was able to even do that on my S9, and everything still appears fairly promising.

Furthermore, it appears as though some people find this flash version to work. Is there anyone that has this working on their computer, or is it really busted for everyone? Also, if you can get it working for your computer, does it work on your S9? Lastly, assuming neither of those are true, is there any way to salvage this version of X-Com? Would such a way be feasible for an S9 (ie if we get it working, will the S9 be capable of running at a reasonable pace)?

I'm not too fluent in flash, but I guess I'll start figuring it out if it means I can spend several hours playing X-Com on my S9. I'll be sure to let you guys know if I get anything figured out.
