I have been using the Stamp ID3 tag editor to edit tags on classical mp3 files and then to copy them to the S9 using MSC mode. Album, Artist Title, etc. work as expected, but when I enter a GENRE tag of Classical or Chamber Music (from dropdown list) it appears on the S9 as (103), (104) etc. So it is clear that the s9 does not understand the genre tag in the same way as the Tag Editor.
Does anyone know how to obtain a list of genre tags that the S9 understands? |

I am using MP3Tag and never had problems with the Genre tag- either selected from the list or a custom one.

yup. sounds like a problem with old tag versions that your editor uses, mp3tag has a freetype genre which the s9 understands. I think you have id3v2.2 when you need id3v2.3
