How do you stop the S9 from scanning and adding files to the respective area?

Hi guys,

How would you stop the S9 from adding say video files to the videos section?


I want them in the "Documents" section but it always seems to auto-add.

hmm are you using mtp or msc?
In msc mode, just put the videos in the documents folder. If you want to see them in documents, you can't use the normal artists, albums, songs, playlists, videos, etc browser. You have to use folder browsing.

Hi, I'm using MSC mode.

It seems when you boot up the S9 it scans for types of files and then adds them to the correct area.

Yeah. Did you try folder browsing to the "documents" folder? Or is it actually moving the files? Because documents in the browser menu is not the same as documents the folder.

Say for example I put the films in E:\Documents (Where E: = S9).

E:\Video is empty, nothing in there.


I turn on the S9 and click on the video icon and it's moved the films into the video area. It hasn't actually "moved them" but it has searched and found them.

It doesn't really matter but it's just a bit annoying, I prefer to organise my stuff myself not let the player do it all :P.

AAH. So, here's what you need to do. Click video and click the list icon if you're not already there. So, get to the place where you see your videos. Now, click the top button in the bottom left (you might have to flip.) Click folders, then documents.

Alternatively, click the browser icon from the main menu, click top, folders, docs.
