I checked Samsung Webpage in Norway, sweden and denmark
nobody has listed mp3 players So i contacted Samsung and got an answer from Samsung Nordic in sweden My question to samsung: Why is there no Mp3 players on Samsung in Scandinavia , the rest of europe have mp3 players on webpage why not samsung nordic? Samsung answer this: Because Samsung ElectronicNordic no longer sell mp3 players. So this means Samsung stop selling mp3 players in Scandinavia Now i dunno if some other distribuitors are in charge on behalf of samsung to distribuite players like P3 in north europe but could Samsung be pulling out stopping with mp3 players? Or could this only be in nordic countries because sale has been very low compared to say ipod ? I think is sad Samsung mp3 players should be sold everywhere in Europe. and i hope samsung is not stopping with mp3 players worldwide or europe. What are you thoughs about this? I do know mp3 players has been sold in nordic countries before because the suport of the players is still listed on the web just not production information |

I noticed the same for Samsung Belgium. Well I suppose they do not sell enough on these markets so they prefer to save money focusing on mobiles phones and TV markets where they are almost leader

Unfortunaly that seem to be the case
this other email was recived today from Samsung Norway: "Samsung has stopped selling mp3 players because our mobile phones today work like a full mp3 player" My opinion: Now this can means 2 things- - Either Samsung is dropping out of smale markeds where sales of samsung mp3 players have been low and focus on markeds like south corea, some bigger european countries like spain, germany,uk etc.. - OR... Samsung is indeed dropping out of the whole Mp3 player marked and start to drop out first in the smale countries however, it still possible samsung is going to stay in South corean marked but this will means most of ous wont get samsung player I hope the latter is not the case since Ice-touch is right around the corner and i do hope to see it released here in europe. |

First off, I changed the title so it's less confusing to people outside scandinavia. Second, this isn't really news. Samsung hasn't been selling a lot of MP3 players in Scandinavia for years, to the degree that major retailers like Komplett in norway had to import them themselves (a sales rep of them told me a couple of years ago). The only real retailer who sells Samsung to Norway for the last years has been Pixmania, which is located in france but sells to most of Europe. UNfortunately their customer service is piss, but since they're in France it means they will continue to sell Samsung DAPs.
