Help Homebrew games for rockbox

Please dont flame me if i posted in the wrong forum, since there is a separate one for rockbox, but this one is for homebrew software so i thought i could post it here.

Hello!

I am new to using rockbox, i have a sansa e250 player. I searched the web looking for homebrew .rock files to put on my player but i couldnt find any. I found something called "Plugbox" and extracted it's contents to .rockbox/rocks/apps, however whenever i try to load any it tells me invompatible model or something (dont remember, too lowzy to download the package again).

I was wondering, where could i download extra apps and games to my player now that i have rockbox installed?

Thanks in advance

You can't actually add .rock files to your sansa, which is why you can't find any. It works with the ones that are compiled into it.

If you want to add new ones, you'll need to get the source code, add it to rockbox, and then compile rockbox yourself. You can check the patch tracker on the rockbox website to look for plugins that aren't included, but usually if a plugin isn't included its because it doesn't work very well or at all.

Its straight c, which probably won't be entirely unfamiliar if you get good at c++.

Though embedded c is so far from the things c++ is used for it'll take some getting used to.

I know i'm about six years late to this post but what about lua games? My friend made a small lua game on my player and it works (it's more like a test menu though). Also, boomshine is a lua game.

Indeed you are. The OP was last here about 6 years ago so it's highly unlikely they'll ever see your question.

If you have new information or a game you want to share please start a new thread. Not sure how many people will be interested in lua games on a sansa E2xx series player but it will be easier for them to find information in a appropriately titled new thread.
