Was that supposed to be a bargain? I would much rather pay $55 for a new 8 GB Clip+(B&H Photo $50+$5 shipping) than $38 for a refurb 8 GB Clip.

Great for you! At the same time, some people might feel that they don't need the microSD slot of the Clip+ (such as, a gift for a child or people who don't need expandablility, using the Clip for transitory use, such as with podcasts) and would be more than happy to save the extra money.

The nice thing about the marketplace now--choices for what fits one's needs.

lol... Isn't it great how things are developing at the "economy" end of the market. Last year at this time there would have been a stampede to sellout.woot and these would have sold out in a few hours. Now its just a yawn.

Still a good price for a top notch 8GB player refurb or not. Too bad I've finished my Christmas shopping.
Thanks for the heads up Mikerman.

Last month new Clips were on sale with free shipping.
2 GB $25
4 GB $30
8 GB $40

Quite often refurbs come in an ugly generic box and might even have the word refurb engraved on the back of the player. I don't think refurbs are typically a good thing to give as gifts.

Another option is to buy a 2 GB Clip+ for under $33 and add an 8 GB micro SDHC card for under $20(Kingston 8 GB class 4 micro SDHC), so for under $53 one could get a Clip+ with 10 GB of storage on Amazon with free shipping.

Ah! I should have waited....I ordered a 4gb Clip+ from Amazon.com for 40.48 + Free Super Saver Shipping last Monday

Edit: Noticed the deal didn't say Clip+, so my slight regret has vanished.
